I’ve been going round and round on several options for the LambTracker® Desktop app.
Initial choices included Swing and Java FX. I had just about settled on Swing because I really don’t want to keep supporting Oracle. Then, there was using Cards or not as a structure. I was still waffling back and forth when I saw these.

I started following the details. The required SW is now on the Google Play Store, so it becomes more official with every passing minute.
A quick test showed that LambTracker® runs on Linux machines. The only issue is trying to figure out where the virtual SD card is. I need to know so I can back up and otherwise work with the database. I didn’t manage to get it running on my Mac yet, but I haven’t had that much time to play with it, either. I am attempting to get the existing LambTracker® application running on my Mac to do some further testing.
One option is to write an Android Activity for the desktop side, assuming that this will continue as an option. One advantage is that it buys us cross-platform capability right away. I’m still pondering, but it looks promising.
